Forthcoming in 2016: Empire Wasted by Becca Klaver

We couldn't be more excited to announce that Becca Klaver's second poetry collection, Empire Wasted, is forthcoming from Bloof Books! Look for it in fall 2016.

In the meantime, you can read a few of the poems from the book in BOUND: The First Array, our chapbook annual, or in the e-version of Becca's sold-out chapbook, Nonstop Pop!

Empire Wasted joins already-scheduled new books and chapbooks by Jennifer L. Knox, Sharon Mesmer, Khadijah Queen, Ginger Ko, Alyssa Lynee, Nikki Wallschlaeger, and Catie Rosemurgy in our positively thrilling (and still in-progress) 2015–2016 season catalog. We're bouncing like SuperBalls just imagining that future.

BeccaKlaver _BlackSwanBecca Klaver is a PhD candidate in English at Rutgers University and the author of the poetry collection LA Liminal (Kore Press, 2010) and several chapbooks. Becca was a founding editor of the feminist poetry press Switchback Books and is currently coediting the second edition of Gurlesque: the new grrly, grotesque, burlesque poetics. New! Broadsides & Ephemera

We're clearing space in Bloof headquarters to make space for new books & bookish objects coming up soon. So we're going to be adding an assortment of printed things that usually only make appearances at the bookfairs we attend. There's all kinds of stuff in these boxes.

The first two things we've put up are broadsides. These look amazing on any wall, and make incredibly posh selfie backdrops.

Not open for submissions. Sign up for updates.

Dear Poets,

We are not currently open for submissions. Duotrope briefly listed us as being open in August, while we were out of town last week. That listing has been corrected and we are replying to several messages now.

We were open in August last year, but the open reading period is not always the same month, as we have not yet scheduled it for the next chapbook series.

Thanks for your interest though! If you'd like to be notified of when we are open for chapbooks (and other news), you can sign up for our email list here. Subscribers to that newsletter get advance notice of submission periods, but we will also announce via our public Facebook and Twitter accounts.

Sincerely,
Bloof Books
